How to Force Restart iPhone?
For iPhone X/8

The method to force restart iPhone X and iPhone 8 is different from other models of iPhone. It is a three-button procedure:


Press the Volume Up button of your iPhone X/8 and then release it.


Press the Volume Down button and then release it.


Now press the Power button of the device and hold it until the screen turns off and then automatically turns back on. When the Apple logo appears, release the Power button.


For iPhone 7/7 Plus

The method of force restarting iPhone 7/7 Plus is different from force restarting iPhone 8/X, iPhone 6s and earlier devices. Follow these instructions:Must read:icloud activation lock removal


Press and hold the Power button on the right side of your iPhone 7/7 Plus.


At the same time, press the Volume Down button and hold it.


Don’t let go of the buttons until you see the Apple Logo on the screen.


For iPhone 6s and Earlier

As long as your device isn't an iPhone 7, 7 Plus, 8, 8 Plus or X, this is what to do to force restart your iPhone:


Press and hold the Power button of the device.


At the same time, press and hold the Home button.
