What You Need to Find a Missing or Lost iPhone or Apple Device
You’ll need to have the following before you can locate your lost or missing device:
- An iCloud account
- Find my iPhone set up on your Apple device. Note: This must be set up before your device went missing. You cannot set up this feature after you’ve lost your phone.
- A device that connects to the Internet such as a smartphone or laptop
Set up Find my iPhone on iCloud
1. On the web, sign in to your iCloud.com account.
2. On the Find my iPhone page, click Setup Instructions.
3. In the next screen, click For iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch.
4. Scroll down and follow the instructions given below.
– On your iPhone, you’ll need to make sure you are running the latest OS. Go to Settings->General->Software Update to confirm this.
– Make sure iCloud is active on your iPhone. Go to Settings and tap Sign in to sign in to your device with your Apple credentials.
